Introduction

Jupiter's new onchain Gacha platform has reignited the card ripping craze on Solana. With real Pokémon and One Piece cards now available through tokenized packs, collectors are once again chasing that one legendary pull that could be worth thousands of dollars.

While Jupiter may be leading the latest wave, crypto has produced some unforgettable pulls over the years. Here are ten of the most memorable card pulls the crypto world has ever seen:

10. The $29,999.99 DraftKings Pack

DraftKings launched 'Reignmakers Football' in 2022 with a rarity ladder that ran Core, Rare, Elite, Legendary and Reignmaker, and the pack pricing told you everything about where the value sat. Core booster packs cost $19.99 and gave you three cards with a 50% shot at a rare, while the premium packs guaranteed at least one Reignmaker card and sold for $29,999.99 apiece.

9. The Lugia That Powered a Token

One of the biggest prizes in Collector Crypt's Gacha is the 2002 Japanese 1st Edition Wind From the Sea Lugia (PSA 10), with only 93 copies graded that highly and an estimated value of around $10,000. Collector Crypt loaded that exact card into its gacha pool as a live pull, so a $50 spin could land a five-figure slab. Grails like that turned the pulls into a real market, and the market turned into a token, with $CARDS launching in August 2025 and running roughly 600% within days!

8. Gods Unchained Mythic Hyperion

Gods Unchained introduced one of crypto's earliest successful blockchain trading card economies. When the Mythic version of Hyperion entered circulation, collectors immediately recognized its significance. Hyperion went to auction in August 2018 for 146.279 ETH, worth roughly $61,000 at the time, which briefly made it the second most valuable trading card in the world.

7. Parallel's Neutron Bomb Masterpiece

Parallel dropped its first proper pack sale on 31 July 2021 with three tiers, running from 0.01 ETH for a Core pack up to 0.2 ETH for a Premium one. When the packs finally cracked, someone was holding a Neutron Bomb Masterpiece, a 1-of-1 that sold for 58 ETH on OpenSea in the middle of a week where Parallel did 13,101 sales and $45.04 million in volume.

6. Ja Morant's Famous Dunk

A card of Ja Morant's dunk was pulled out of a regular pack, sold on by its original owner for $2,000, and then flipped 50 days later on 15 January 2021 for $35,000, a roughly 17x for the buyer who had the patience to sit on it.

5. Homer Pepe and the $3.65M Frog

Peter Kell won a 1-of-1 Homer Simpson Pepe for 350,000 PepeCash, worth about $38,500 that day, and the internet spent the next three years telling him he was an idiot. In February 2021 he sold it for 205 ETH, roughly $312,000, a 700% return, and the buyer was the collector known as TokenAngels.

4. Sorare Unique Erling Haaland Card

Sorare transformed fantasy football by issuing officially licensed NFT player cards. Pulling or acquiring a Unique Erling Haaland card became one of the biggest achievements in Sorare history. On January 2022, a Sorare user going by Zima Blue paid 265.1 ETH for the Unique 1/1 Erling Haaland card from the 2021-22 season, which converted to roughly $687,000 at the time and made it the most expensive digital sports collectible ever sold.

3. Luka Dončić Legendary Holo Icon Pull

Legendary Holo Icon packs were notoriously difficult to obtain, with only a tiny fraction of collectors securing one. A collector opening one of these packs landed a Luka Dončić Legendary Moment, which quickly became one of the most talked about pulls on NBA Twitter and Crypto Twitter alike.

2. Courtyard Puts a Charizard on Polygon

In 2024, Courtyard and Polygon Labs held a month long onchain auction for a PSA 10 1999 1st Edition Holographic Charizard, one of the rarest Pokémon cards ever made. The card was worth around $250,000, with only 125 PSA 10 copies in existence, while the physical card remained securely stored in a Brink's vault.

1. LeBron James Cosmic (NBA Top Shot)

If there is one NFT card that introduced millions of people to digital collectibles, it was the Cosmic LeBron James "From the Top" dunk. Released during NBA Top Shot's explosive 2021 run, Cosmic packs were among the most sought after drops on the platform.

A Top Shot user named Jesse bought a LeBron James Cosmic dunk NFT for $208,000 in 2021. Only 49 editions of the Moment were ever minted, making it one of the rarest on the platform. Even more remarkably, the seller had originally pulled it from a $230 Legendary pack, turning a single pack opening into roughly a 900x return. At the time, Dapper Labs CEO Roham Gharegozlou called it one of the rarest and most iconic Moments ever released on NBA Top Shot.
