Summary

  • The Pudgy Penguins brand is backed by Igloo Inc., a parent company owned by longtime crypto bull Luca Netz. Luca’s vision is to make Pudgy Penguins the Mickey Mouse of Web3.
  • As a Pudgy holder, you own the IP rights to your penguin—you can apply to have it featured in official Pudgy Penguins content and, if selected, earn royalties from its use.

Background

Pudgy Penguins is a collection of 8,888 penguin NFTs with a current floor price of approximately 10 ETH (about $25,000). The brand is backed by Igloo Inc., a parent company owned by longtime crypto bull Luca Netz. Luca’s vision is to make Pudgy Penguins the Mickey Mouse of Web3.

Brand Recognition

The Pudgy brand just surpassed 120 billion views across all platforms, and the community is incredibly strong and supportive. Every day, you’ll see countless people on X discussing all things Pudgy. Most owners use their penguin as a profile picture, and every Pudgy post is flooded with community support. Pudgy Penguins also host pop-up events around the world to foster a tight-knit global community.

What’s remarkable is that many fans love the brand without even knowing it began as an NFT. They’ve launched a successful stuffed-animal line at Walmart and released the first episode of their Lil Pudgy’s TV show on YouTube. The team is developing several video games across multiple platforms. As a Pudgy holder, you own the IP rights to your penguin—you can apply to have it featured in official Pudgy Penguins content and, if selected, earn royalties from its use.

Airdrops

Pudgy Penguin holders benefited from the tenth-largest crypto airdrop in history. The team created the Pengu Token and gave every holder a generous allocation. Igloo Inc. also owns Abstract Chain and is expected to launch its own token later this year. When that happens, Pudgy holders will likely receive another significant airdrop.

The case for NFTs

NFTs are making a comeback, and if the trend continues many in the market will be caught offside and forced to buy at higher prices. Proof of digital ownership will only grow in importance as the metaverse gains traction. Digital assets are valuable now—and their value will increase as more people grasp their use cases. Never underestimate the urge to flex: ultra-valuable NFTs will become status symbols and a way to signal beliefs.

Blue-chip NFTs are likely to outperform ETH this cycle. Holding high-quality NFTs is similar to owning leveraged ETH, since most NFTs are denominated in ETH. You benefit both from ETH’s rising price and from increased demand for the NFT collection.

Different Ways to Gain Exposure

If you can afford it, the most direct way to join the Pudgy ecosystem is by buying a Big Pudgy Penguin (NFA). A more accessible option is a Lil Pudgy, the little brother NFT, which has a floor price of about 1.25 ETH (roughly $3,100). While Bigs may see stronger gains, both sizes should appreciate as the brand expands. You could also invest in the Pengu token, currently trading at just over $0.01, so you can adjust your exposure freely. Finally, Pudgy Rods(ecosystem accessories) often spike in bull markets; their floor price is around 0.41 ETH (about $1,000).

Final Thoughts

I believe NFTs will stage a major comeback this cycle, and Pudgy Penguins will lead the way. Luca Netz is a visionary you can’t bet against, and the Pudgy community is the strongest I’ve seen in crypto. I’m grateful to be part of the huddle, and I hope to see you there soon.
