What is Trump’s New NFT, and Should You Buy It?
By Pratik Bhuyan November 1, 2024
Introduction
Donald Trump is back at it with yet another round of NFTs, and he’s going all out—because of course he is. Launched today, August 28, 2024, this new collection is his fourth foray into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). And let’s just say, it's everything you'd expect from Trump: flashy, bold, and oozing with massy charisma. So, what’s the deal with these new Trump NFTs, and should you consider snagging one? Let’s find out.
What’s in the New Collection?
This time around, Trump’s NFTs feature 50 different digital cards, each one priced at $99. The designs? Pure Trump. We’re talking superhero Trump, biker Trump, and even Trump as a crypto advocate! One card even has him holding a ball with the Bitcoin logo on it. Trump is certainly leaving no stone unturned this time to push the crypto narrative in his presidential campaign!

But it doesn’t stop at the digital artwork. If you buy 15 of these NFTs for a cool $1,485, you’ll receive a physical trading card that contains a piece of the suit Trump wore during his presidential debate with Joe Biden—a moment he claims changed the course of the election. And guess what he’s calling that suit? The “Knockout Suit”. Also, if you’re feeling extra spendy, buying 75 NFTs gets you a dinner date with Trump at his Jupiter, Florida club.

How Does This Stack Up to His Previous NFT Drops?
This isn’t Trump’s first rodeo with NFTs. Trump’s initial entry into the NFT world took place in December 2022, when he launched his first collection of 45,000 NFTs. These sold out in a matter of hours and the venture reportedly brought in over $2 million in crypto; a substantial sum, even in the volatile world of digital assets.
Although launched at $99 a piece, the floor price for these NFTs soared on secondary markets like OpenSea, with some cards trading for as much as $1,200 shortly after their release. Currently, the floor price for the first collection sits close to $220, reflecting a 122% increase from the original mint price. In terms of individual returns, some NFTs from the collection have seen astronomical profits. For instance, NFT #5809, which was purchased for $99, was resold for an incredible $44,900, yielding a profit of over 45,000%!

Moreover, if you bought one of these trading cards, you were automatically entered into a sweepstake with some pretty sweet prizes—including a cocktail party at Mar-a-Lago, dinner in Miami, a round of golf with the ex-president, or even a one-on-one Zoom call, among other cool rewards!
Trump’s Marketing Magic
In true Trump fashion, the launch of this new set of NFTs was a full-on spectacle. He took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to drop a promo video, hyping up the collection as both a collectible and a statement piece.
And, of course, he couldn’t resist throwing in a little political flair, dubbing himself the “crypto president”. Whether that title will stick is still up in the air, especially with Kamala now hopping on the crypto train too. But you’ve got to give it to Trump: he definitely knows how to get the crypto community buzzing!

So, Should You Buy One?
If you’re a Trump supporter, a political memorabilia collector, or just someone who loves the wild world of NFTs, these might be worth your time. But if you're looking for a more practical investment, it’s best to stay away from such hyped collectibles.
The NFT market is notorious for its ups and downs, and while Trump’s NFTs have done well before, there’s no guarantee they’ll keep up that momentum. It’s a bit of a gamble, like most things in crypto, so make sure you know what you’re getting into.
In short, Trump’s latest NFT collection is exactly what you’d expect: loud, bold, and unmistakably Trump. Whether or not it’s a good buy is up to you, but one thing’s for sure: it's never a dull moment when Trump is involved!
