Perena
Perena builds a composable, yield‑generating stablecoin ecosystem on Solana.
About Perena
Perena is a Solana‑based protocol that creates a diversified, utility‑driven stablecoin (USD*) and provides liquidity primitives such as Numéraire, vaults, and AMMs to pool stablecoin liquidity and generate yield. Backed by institutional investors, it aims to offer composable, high‑yield stablecoin infrastructure for DeFi applications.

Beluga’s take
Perena’s UI feels tight and responsive on Solana, and the fee structure stays comfortably low compared with many other stablecoin bridges. Minting USD* and swapping through the Numéraire pool is almost instant, and the aggregated liquidity gives me confidence that large trades won’t slip dramatically. The platform’s composability lets me pull stablecoin yields into other Solana strategies without extra bridges.
The biggest pain point is the limited token list; I still can’t route some of my favorite stable assets into the vaults without a manual workaround. Documentation lags behind new releases, so figuring out the exact risk parameters takes extra time. The recent Drift exploit on the JLP vault reminded me that edge‑case attacks can still surface, even though the core products kept running.
Since the incident, Perena has rolled out tighter monitoring and added a few new vault options that improve capital efficiency. Institutional backing shows up in more on‑chain integrations, making it easier to move larger positions between protocols. The roadmap now highlights faster oracle updates and a UI refresh, which should smooth out the remaining rough edges.
